Xiaomi and Redmi made a big splash today with the launch of multiple new devices at their China event, spotlighting the gaming-oriented Redmi K80 Ultra smartphone and the brand’s first compact tablet, the Redmi K Pad.
Redmi K80 Ultra: A Gaming Powerhouse
Positioned between the Redmi K80 and K80 Pro, the Redmi K80 Ultra is designed for both gamers and power users. It sports a vibrant 6.83-inch OLED display with a sharp 1280p+ resolution and a buttery-smooth 144Hz refresh rate. With an impressive peak brightness of 3,200 nits, the display promises excellent outdoor visibility. The phone also integrates an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and a 20MP front camera.
Under the hood, the K80 Ultra is powered by MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 9400+ chipset and can be configured with up to 16GB of RAM and a massive 1TB of internal storage. It runs Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2, based on Android 15, and boasts IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the 50MP main camera featuring the OV Light Fusion 800 sensor, accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide lens. Audio is enhanced with dual AAC 1115 coaxial stereo speakers paired with an X-axis linear vibration motor, delivering immersive sound and haptic feedback.
The massive 7,410mAh silicon carbon battery supports 100W wired charging and bypass charging, ensuring long gaming sessions without interruptions. The Redmi K80 Ultra comes in four stylish colors: Sandstone Gray, Moon Rock White, Spruce Green, and Ice Front Blue. Pricing starts at CNY 2,599 ($362) for the 12GB/256GB variant and goes up to CNY 3,799 ($530) for the top 16GB/1TB model.
Redmi K Pad: Compact Tablet with Big Power

Marking Redmi’s first foray into compact tablets, the Redmi K Pad features an 8.8-inch IPS LCD with a sharp 3,008 x 1,880 resolution and an ultra-smooth 165Hz refresh rate. Its slim 6.46mm metal unibody design weighs just 336 grams, making it easy to carry and hold.
The tablet shares the same powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset as the K80 Ultra and offers configurations up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. Photography options include an 8MP front camera and a 13MP rear shooter.
Gaming is a focus here too, with a large 12,050mm² vapor chamber to keep temperatures low during intensive play. The K Pad is equipped with two USB-C ports, allowing gamers to charge the device while playing—one port at the bottom and another on the side. The 7,500mAh battery supports 67W fast charging for quick power-ups.
Available in Deep Black, Spruce Green, and Smoky Purple, the Redmi K Pad is priced from CNY 2,799 ($390) for the 12GB/256GB model and CNY 4,199 ($585) for the 16GB/1TB version.
