HMD Vibe 2 Tech Specs Leak Ahead of Launch

HMD Vibe 2 Tech Specs Leak Major Upgrades: Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, 50MP Cameras, and Android 15

A new leak shared by the X (formerly Twitter) account HMD Meme reveals that HMD Global is gearing up to launch the second-generation Vibe smartphone. Dubbed the HMD Vibe 2, the upcoming device appears to be a budget-friendly phone packed with significant improvements over its predecessor.

HMD Vibe 2 Specifications and Features

According to the leak, the HMD Vibe 2 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, a notable upgrade from the Snapdragon 680 found in the original Vibe. The device is expected to come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, with support for microSD card expansion up to 512GB.

On the front, the Vibe 2 is rumored to feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and HDR10 support, offering a much better visual experience than the first-gen model’s 720p LCD.

Camera Upgrades

Photography is also set to receive a boost. The front camera is expected to jump from 5MP to a high-resolution 50MP selfie shooter. On the rear, the Vibe 2 may sport a dual-camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor, likely for depth or macro shots.

Battery, Charging, and Software

The battery capacity is said to increase to 5000mAh, supporting 33W wired fast charging—a notable jump from the 4000mAh battery and 10W charging seen on the original Vibe. The phone will reportedly ship with Android 15 out of the box, making it one of the first budget phones to offer the latest version of Google’s mobile OS.

Affordable Android Option for the US Market?

While the HMD Vibe 2 clearly targets the entry-level Android phone market, it brings across-the-board upgrades that could make it a compelling option—especially in the U.S., where low-cost Android devices often suffer from limited availability and sparse software updates.

There’s no official word yet on pricing or release date, but given the recent leaks, an official launch could be just around the corner.
